Facts of Congress
Overview
Facts of Congress are short, animated videos designed to teach students the basics of Congress in a way that is both educational and entertaining. Each Facts of Congress video introduces concepts within topics on the history of Congress, how Congress works, the impact of Congress, civic involvement, and representative democracy. Although Facts of Congress are designed for students in grades four through nine, citizens of all ages will find the videos useful and interesting.
Teacher Materials
Selected Facts of Congress videos have accompanying instructional materials, accessible on the video page. These materials include correlations to state academic standards, a list of key terms, discussion questions, and suggested classroom activities. These suggestions span a range of subjects and skill levels, so not every idea will apply to your teaching situation. Choose what works best for your students. The teacher materials are available in PDF format and may be downloaded for printing.
