How would you grade Congress?
Congress deals with many difficult issues, so we should expect some disagreements, but sometimes lawmakers get a little
out of hand.
Incivility and rudeness make it impossible to get anything done, and when nothing gets done, the government shuts down.
The result: bad laws that affect us all.
Civility doesn't mean that lawmakers have to agree with each other, just that they should respect each other.
Only when lawmakers respect each other will lawmakers find common ground. When you're civil to someone else, good things happen.
