Steve Ricchetti

Steve Ricchetti is the President and founder of Ricchetti, Inc. Founded in January 2001, Ricchetti, Inc. provides government relations and political consulting services to numerous corporations, trade associations and political organizations.
Before founding Ricchetti, Inc., Mr. Ricchetti served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of the United States. In this role, Mr. Ricchetti oversaw numerous White House departments, including legislative affairs and political operations, and served as a principal on the Administration's economic, budget, and foreign policy teams.
At the request of the President, Mr. Ricchetti, along with Secretary of Commerce William Daley, led the Administration's successful campaign to secure permanent normal trade relations with China. He also led the effort to resolve the long-standing stalemate with Congress over United Nations dues. He worked closely with the President, Vice President, Chief of Staff, Cabinet Members and other senior administration officials to formulate and execute administration policy in many areas. He began serving in this capacity in January of 1999.
This was Mr. Ricchetti's second official role in the Clinton White House. From January 1993 to February 1996, Mr. Ricchetti served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs. In that role, he was the principal legislative liaison to the United States Senate for President Clinton. His work included substantial involvement in the administration's efforts on the economic recovery package of 1993, the Telecommunications Act of 1996, health care reform, education policy and numerous trade and foreign policy initiatives, including NAFTA and Bosnia.
Prior to 1993, Mr. Ricchetti served as Executive Director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. There, Mr. Ricchetti was responsible for providing national and statewide strategic, political, research, press, and financial assistance to 37 U.S. Senate races. Under his direction, the DSCC experienced a record-breaking fundraising performance, doubled the amount allocated to Senate candidates, won the special election of Harris Wofford in 1991, and added to the Democratic majority in the Senate in 1992.
Mr. Ricchetti has also served as the President and founder of Ricchetti & Associates; Vice President of Public Strategies, Washington; Executive Director of Congressional Communications at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association; and Special Legislative Assistant at the Allied Corporation.
Mr. Ricchetti is a graduate of Miami University in Ohio, and received his Juris Doctorate from the George Mason University School of Law. Mr. Ricchetti and his wife Amy reside in Arlington, Virginia, and have four children, Danny, Shannon, Tyler, and Jeffrey.
